The Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) has launched its first call for proposals. In this round, an amount of EUR 25 million has been set aside for aeronautical research and development (R&D) projects.
This first call covers 72 individual research topics in five major areas:
- green regional aircraft;
- green rotorcraft;
- sustainable and green engines;
- SMART fixed-wing aircraft;
- systems for green operations.
The Clean Sky JTI, dedicated to promoting research into greener, quieter and more efficient aircraft, is one of Europe's largest research programmes, with a total budget of EUR 1.6 billion. Clean Sky brings together the European Commission and the European aeronautics industry in a public-private partnership.
